Descripció del contingut i pla d'activitats:
The current Heraklion International Airport (LGIR) is the second largest airport, in terms of traffic and destinations, in Greece following Athens Intl. and it faces congestion constraints during peak months, with a significant growth in the last years, together with under the standard modern passenger facilities aimed for popular destinations as Crete.

A new airport is under construction at Kasteli, approximately thirty (30) kilometers southeast of the existing Heraklion Airport.

The objective of the Airspace and ATM Concept of Operations (ConOps) is to define the general design guidelines, considerations, constraints and assumptions that need to be taken on-board for the upcoming design of the flight procedures and airspace of the future Kasteli airport.

The ConOps needs to identify all the essential components of a solid planning foundation on which the next phase of the conceptual design can be built. The elements of the planning will answer the questions of "why" is needed to pursue these changes through defined objectives, as well as the basis of "what" we will do and "how" we will do it, from the agreement of operational requirements and the scope and timeline within which they will be accomplished.
