La optimització dels recursos de handling en una aerolínia
normalment es tracten un cop la xarxa de vols comercials ja ha
estat definida, reduint moltíssim la seva capacitat d'estalviar
costos. En aquest TFG s'explorarà quines són les palanques de
disseny de xarxa que tenen les aerolínies per reduir el costos de
handling.
 
Overview (resum en anglès):
In this project it is pretend to stablish a methodology and an indicator that allows the network planning and the ground operations planning to obtain efficient networks in terms of handling, on an easy way.

This methodology and this indicator allow to make an union between the airport resources management and the network planification. This indicator is designed to be obtained by using only the network planning data, this allows that the same network agents can compute that value. This indicator is designed to be used by low-cost airlines that have auto-handling service, that means that they manage the services by themselves. This indicator requires a procedure of three steps.

First, different flight networks with different timings, routes, etc. Each network is going to have its own value of Handling Efficiency.

Next, from this flight networks, different graphics of flights distribution are created. This graphics are done for each airport during the study period. From this graphics, it is obtained all the necessary data to compute the Handling Efficiency value.

Finally, with these data, which are the mean TAT (Turn Around Time), hour stationarity, hour deviation, number of flights and kurtosis; it is possible to proceed at the obtention and analysis of the indicator Handling Efficiency.

The Handling Efficiency analysis allows to calculate, not only the handling efficiency itself, it allows to calculate also the costs associated at this service. With that, it is possible to obtain the costs associated at those efficiencies. Also, the Handling Efficiency indicator can be used in a comparative way between different nets, determining which of it is more efficient.
