Este proyecto pretende analizar la viabilidad y la eficiencia tanto
económica como medioambiental de adaptar un sistema de calefacción
por
suelo radiante a un sistema de refrigeración por suelo refrescante
optimizado mediante el uso de ventiladores.
 
Overview (resum en anglès):
The main objective of this work is to optimize the performance of the radiant floor cooling through the use of fans. The radiant floor cooling system is much less known than the conventional radiant floor system, mainly due to its peculiarities and drawbacks. Among the most important, two should be highlighted: the risk of condensation and low cooling capacity.
To solve the first, there are already advanced dehumidification systems that greatly minimize the risk of condensation.
The second drawback disappears when sunlight hits the ground directly, this fact multiplies the cooling capacity. It makes buildings with large glazed areas ideal for installing radiant floor cooling, such as an airport terminal.
Despite the reduction in the risk of condensation and the increase in cooling capacity, the most obvious problem still exists: cold air is denser than hot air and therefore stagnates in areas close to the ground, making it impossible for a convective flow to occur naturally.
It is precisely this point that is addressed in this project, the generation of an artificial convective flow through the use of fans. During the project, multiple simulations have been carried out with SolidWorks, with different parameters and initial conditions, to determine the most optimal way to install the fans, taking into account their angular velocity, as well as the cooling capacity of the radiant floor cooling. The results show that some of these configurations do contribute significantly to the generation of a convective current.
