Overview (resum en anglès):
The first aim of this project is to study the possibility of creating new air routes between Spain and Europe, in addition to study existing routes that have not been fully exploited in order to add more frequency to them.

To achieve this, it will be carry out a study of all the existing operations between Spain and different European countries to select those that offer the most possibilities when establishing new connections. In addition, the population of these countries in the different geographical areas of the Spanish state will be analyzed, with the intention of selecting the appropriate airports to open routes abroad.

Next, the passenger exchange data of these airports with all the airports of the foreign countries selected above will be extracted. From here, a series of filters will be applied to maintain exclusively the best existing routes. Then, airports that do not have a passenger flow between them will be studied in order to find a new route based on various factors, such as the amount of population that the airport would include or the proximity to airports that already operate this route.

The second proposed aim is to analyze the feasibility of the founded routes, specifically analyzing one of them, in order to calculate the total cost that an airline would entail operating this route.

The choice of the aircraft is the first thing to do, since each one has different characteristics that directly affect its performance and, therefore, the cost of the operation. After verifying that the route could be carried out with the chosen aircraft, the partial costs that an airline must face will be broken down to find the economic cost of the operation and give an average price of the ticket. The results and conclusions will be shown at the end of the project.
