Overview (resum en anglès): | |
The healthcare sector is one of the biggest beneficiaries of 5G. This new generation of wireless network could significantly change the way we know today's medical service. There are several projects underway such as Telehealth, remote patient monitoring in real time using sensors, the improved use of Virtual Reality (VR) and Augmented Reality (AR) for rehabilitation, using Artificial Intelligence (AI) to generate diagnoses or analyse medical images, ambulances connected to a 5G network or remote surgeries.
The main objectives of this study are to analyze the viability of long-distance surgeries without the need for the physical presence of the specialist surgeon, through the use of a 5G network and devices connected to it. Design network architecture as a standardization proposal, capable of supporting the requirements of each of the telesurgery services. Also, that it is capable of incorporating haptic feedback and improving security protocols against a possible attack on the network. For this, the fifth generation of mobile telephony will be analyzed and the reasons why this type of surgery is only possible with a 5G network and the services offered by this generation will be explained. In addition to the necessary configuration to perform this process safely. Taking into account, possible cyberattacks, different technical problems of the wireless network or the security of patient information. In addition, we will analyze four cases that performed remote surgeries in search of problems during the interventions performed, to later solve these problems in the design of our architecture. |
