| El objetivo principal del projecto es migrar la red MPLS a la tecnología VXLAN (Virtual Extensible Local Area Network). Esta tecnología nos permite la superposición de una red de capa 2 (L2) sobre una subyacente de capa 3 (L3) utilizando cualquier protocolo de routing IP, empleando encapsulamiento MAC en UDP. VXLAN ofrece una solución escalable en entornos de cloud virtualizados.
Se utilizará el simulador de redes GNS3 para realizar los diseños y configuraciones con el fin de extraer conclusiones y conocer las diferencias entre los protocolos de ambas tecnologías. | The objective of the project is the design and implementation of a set of services to migrate the architecture of a financial institution and support the planning and programme to define its DCI (Data Centre Interconnection).
MPLS (Multiprotocol Label switching), a technology that enables packet forwarding through the assignment of labels, is currently used. MPLS groups a set of IETF standards that provide mechanisms for identifying, routing, forwarding and switching traffic flow packets over any L3 protocol, mainly IP. The quintessential service of an MPLS network is private connectivity through building virtual private networks, VPNs. The main objective of the project is to migrate the MPLS network to a newer technology called VXLAN (Virtual Extensible Local Area Network). This technology allows us to overlay a layer 2 (L2) network on top of an underlying layer 3 (L3) network using any IP routing protocol, using MAC encapsulation in UDP. VXLAN offers a scalable solution in virtualised cloud environments. The GNS3 network simulator will be used to perform the designs and configurations in order to draw conclusions and learn about the differences between the protocols of both technologies. |
