Descripció del contingut i pla d'activitats:
El proyecto se enfoca a explorar las posibilidades de la
realidad virtual para desarrollar una escape room y valorar su
aplicación en la formación.

Actividades en el proyecto incluyen trabajar con las nuevas
posibilidades de la realidad virtual y aumentada , sobre todo
la manipulación de objetos 3D, la incorporación de unidades
didácticas, maneras de interactuar con el material, etc.

Overview (resum en anglès):
The high rate of accidents in the construction sector is a strong challenge very difficult to overcome given the many particular aspects of the building site (for its own nature, unique, changing day to day) mixing heavy machinery, difficult to control spaces and a very diverse human factor with huge heterogeneity of background, skills and cultures. In addition, the new procedures and regulations due to the COVID-19 make even more difficult to have the workers well prepared for an adequate safety.
This work proposes the use of emerging technologies, such as the videogames, to create first person experiences with some gamification and narrative elements to train and raise awareness workers about their safety and wellbeing.
The first part of this work is focused on analyzing the most common workplace accidents in the construction sector and the main forms of contagion of Covid-19, in order to propose some measures to prevent these mishaps.
The second part is devoted to the design and implement of a first-person experience with unity3d, to make workers to learn about the best strategies to avoid accidents by following the right safety measures.
This experience is created by following the gaming scheme and tips of the ¿Escape Room¿, as designed to require a high level of concentration while being quite challenging for the player.
The development of these training contents has two main features to highlight: (a) it has been planned with assets (algorithms and prefabs) to ease the creation of many other new contents for similar purposes; (b) it include tools to analyze the player behavior to specific situations, with the aim of optimizing the design of spaces and placement of emergency elements for a safetier working places.
