Descripció del contingut i pla d'activitats:
El trabajo consiste en hacer la comparativa estructural de marcos de bicicleta rigidos y articulados a fin de conocer e interpretar los mecanismos involucrados.
Se requiere el conocimiento de herramientas de modelacion numerica, cálculo de estructuras y criterio propio para la interpretación de resultados.

    Overview (resum en anglès):

In the world of cycling, the rider's fitness is very important but the benefit of the bicycle is also important. These benefits may come from different parts of the bike. In particular, one of the most important parts is the bike frame. The main manufacturers of bikes are constantly innovating to improve this element either forms or materials.
This study comes from the curiosity of fan and practicing, and sees how they affect the forces applied to a standard mountain bike frame.
The main objective is to perform a test using the calculation finite elements method. Specifically it aims to observe the reactions of the bike frame as strain and its resistance to being subjected to a force. This study was carried out with the help of two drawing programs and calculation important in the world of engineering, Solid Edge and GiD.
To make the study more realistic, is a test used to simulate the UNE-EN 14766 refers to mountain bikes. This test was chosen because it is really what it is used to study the behaviour of a bike frame.
The study is divided into three parts. The first part aims to explain the basics knowledge to understand the study. In the second section, studying the bike frame and the third section is a discussion of the results.
As a conclusion of the study, we can see that resistance depends on the geometry and the material of which it is made. We also found one of the many solutions to optimize the strength of the box considering its weight.
