Overview (resum en anglès):
The use of Lean principles is becoming more popular in recent years and in other activities rather than industry but with a common objective: improving processes by eliminating unnecessary activities and simplifying them, translating into cost savings and better services for the customer.

The main goal of this dissertation is to apply the Lean approach in the services field, in this case a technological startup company, to identify and propose improvements.

Alteraid, a spin off from UPC-Castelldefels, was selected to realize this activities in a collaborative basis. A series of meetings were conducted to know the company and their business, select a critical process to be studied, map how activities are performed with the employees participation, validate information from previous meetings and to propose a series of improvements.

The selected process was the capture of potential customers, in other words the opportunities. From subsequent analysis the selected improvements were to introduce a standardized procedure with more efficient communications, the use of forms and fill-in templates to homogenize information, and finally to propose the use of informatics tools for managing opportunities to put in action these changes.

The use of a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) tool covers most of detected improvement points and an instructions manual is proposed with steps regarding CRM tool usage following standardized procedure.

The adoption of the standardized procedure and the use of the CRM tool will simplify and in general improves how are being handled the opportunities within the organization.
