| This project consists in the creation of a sample online
portfolio solution: in this case for a developer profile; which also could be used for creating corporate websites, or other related field type of websites; managed by a CMS, so the final implementation consists in a multi-module project which basically consists in the authoring application (the CMS) and the delivery tier (Hippo's called site) which is the final website and what is seen for the public users. The implemented solution (the portfolio sample demo project) is done using a cutting-edge software in terms of Content Management Systems: Hippo CMS. It's based on Java Language: one of the top programming languages, and between the most implemented, Hippo CMS stands out for its scalability performance, security, integrability with other technologies and solutions, also this project is all based in the open source version, with a community of users behind, and a solvent company in charge of this technology: BloomReach, who is the owner of this software and maintaining it. Hippo CMS is an Open Source Java based content management system. This Java CMS enables companies to orchestrate and deliver cross-channel digital experiences. Hippo’s clean, modular architecture and support for open standards & headless implementations make it the ideal platform for agile development and open integration. Some of the main features of Hippo: - Java Based - Open Source - Scalable - Separates content from presentation - Performance Driven - Easy to integrate - For Content & Commerce - Multi-lingual, Multi-site, Multi-channel The idea behind this project is to be perfect candidate as a CMS tough for Developers: If you are skilled as a developer, you should be looking for a CMS that gives you a lot of freedom to develop, and Hippo does match this description perfectly. The final implemented solution created in this master thesis project tries to contain most of the features mentioned there, explanations of Hippo's concepts, components, Beans, and other important fields and implementations of most of the main topics in Hippo. Also in this project are studied and tried to integrate this software with other technologies, In conclusion making this sample project a very complete and useful solution in the IT related field and with future real world implementations. |
