Descripció del contingut i pla d'activitats:
Objetivos principales del TFG:

1) Hacer un estudio de la migración del sistema de seguridad del Sistema Automático de Tratamiento de Equipajes (SATE) de la Terminal 1 del aeropuerto de Barcelona - El Prat por razones de fin de vida del sistema.

2) Tener hecho dicho proyecto para el momento en el que se tenga que hacer la migración, para posteriormente poder presentárselo a AENA, además de tener hecho el estudio de manera interna para saber los pasos a seguir y las cosas a tener en cuenta una vez esté aprobado.

3) A parte, aprovechar los conocimientos adquiridos para futuros proyectos relacionados con el safety de Vanderlande, como podría ser el nuevo proyecto para la Terminal 2 del aeropuerto Barcelona-El Prat o la futura terminal satélite para 2026, también del mismo aeropuerto.
 
Overview (resum en anglès):

Vanderlande Industries España S.A.U. is the company in charge of carrying out the operations and maintenance of the BHS (Baggage Handling System) of
Barcelona-El Prat airport.

BHS is a TUBTRAX transport system with PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) controls consisting of approximately 25 km of conveyor belt and various redundant systems.

With future infrastructure improvements, the need for a feasibility study on migration of the BHS security system has recently increased. This problem has arisen for reasons of the end of life of said system, since the current company
supplier of the PLC devices that allow to control the security functions of the BHS (i.e. PILZ) has decided to stop its manufacture.

At this point and considering that in case of failure of one of these programmable automatons there are few spare parts left, it has been decided to examine the migration of the security system taking into account other options on the market than those of PILZ, such as Siemens.

The objective of this final thesis is to study the degree of necessity and the feasibility of carrying out this migration in the security system of the BHS of
Barcelona-El Prat Airport T1. To this end, 2 different proposals are taken into account with the companies PILZ and Siemens which will then be analysed with the aim of providing a real solution and budget for the project.

It will be concluded that both proposals are valid, but that the PILZ proposal is more suited to a short term migration because of the problems that Siemens has in the way of interconnecting various systems. However, the option
presented by Siemens will be seen as a clear solution for a medium-long term migration thanks to the advantages it offers with the integration of the current control system and the guarantee of continuity of its products.
