Descripció del contingut i pla d'activitats:
The main aim of the Master Thesis is the design of efficient resources allocation algorithms in optical networks, with special emphasis on disaggregated optical networks. In particular, the constraints imposed by disaggregation have to be considered and taken into account.
 
Overview (resum en anglès):
The aim of this thesis is the study of the impact of disaggregation in optical networks and investigates regeneration as a potential solution to compensate the performances’ degradation. Under this premise, optimal solutions for regenerator placement, exploiting the inherent grooming capabilities of regenerators, are proposed and evaluated.
