Tipus: Individual

Lloc de realització: EETAC

Paraules clau:
RNAV, SID, STAR, RNPAR, GNSS

tradicional (ILS, VOR, etc...)

implementar

Overview (resum en anglès):

The main objective of this project is to design an approach procedure with the RNAV and RNP specifications for the Lleida-Alguaire airport. This type of procedure involves a modernization of the air navigation system that the airport currently has. PBN procedures can be implemented in approaches, as in the case of this project, but also in procedures such as SID and STAR and en-route procedures.

The concept of PBN has been going on for a while, but with the improvement of satellite positioning systems has made navigation by PBN procedures a safer and more reliable system than conventional ones.

In order to achieve the goal of the project, the Insignia program has been used, designed by Enaire, which has all the official information on air navigation in Spain. Insignia allows you to locate points by coordinates, create segments with distances and track courses and display relevant information about points and airways.

Two types of procedures will be analysed, one non-precision and the other one with the help of vertical guidance. Theory tells us that the minima for each of the procedures should be different but with the study we will see and analyse why this is not always the case.

In the end, we will end up discovering what really limits Lleida-Alguaire airport, which forces the diversion of many flights when the Lleida winters bring the thick fog so characteristic of the area.

Analysing the results, it is explained whether the procedure should be implemented or not and what benefits it could bring to the airport. There will also be proposals for improvement for the proposed design and to reduce the minima.
