Over the last decades the use of drones, or known better by RPAS (Remotely Piloted Aircraft Systems), have gone from being something only seen and thought of in the military world, to being one of the emerging industries with greater potential we’ve seen in the last few years. Given that drones are easy to use while also being accessible and have endless applications, they have shown much potential for any type of field, from photography , construction, surveillance, etc..
The goal of this project is to design and generate a route for the vertical evaluation of buildings, meaning that will be shown how to take advantage of the given nature of drones to automatically generate a route surrounding a building or a given volume from one height to another for many data gathering applications. It will also be discussed many of the uses that drones have for similar purposes, the design and thought process behind the shape of the route and how the different variations of the routes are generated and also what is the vision or possible applications that this route can have and what can be the future developments these can have in the near future. |
