| Disseny d'una terminal de càrrega
El projecte pretén analitzar els requeriments de les terminals de càrrega dels aeroports per proposar un disseny que tingui en compte les necessiatts específicques d'aquest tipus d'operacions. Es tindrà en compte, al màxim possible, amb les necessitats de les empreses operadores. Es proposarà un disseny per a l'edifici terminal i per l'equipament necessari Pla de treball: - Estudi dels models de disseny de les terminals aeroportuàries, amb especial atenció a les terminals de càrrega - Estudi de l'euipament necessari per al tractament de la càrrega - Analisi de les diferents tipologies de càrrega i les seves necessitats - Propostes de diseeny de terminal |

| Air cargo transport has become a key component of global supply chains due to the growth of international trade, e-commerce and the increasing demand for time-sensitive and specialised goods. These developments have increased the pressure on airport infrastructures, which must respond to growing operational requirements while improving efficiency, security and environmental performance. In this context, the design and organisation of air cargo terminals play a fundamental role in ensuring the efficient movement, storage and processing of goods.
This Final Degree Project analyses the main technical and operational factors involved in the design of airport cargo terminals and identifies successful operational models within the European context. The study begins with an overview of the air cargo sector and the different types of goods, aircraft and ground handling equipment that determine terminal requirements. Particular attention is given to the operational flows associated with export and import processes, as well as to the specific infrastructure required for specialised cargo, including perishable and pharmaceutical products, dangerous goods, valuable cargo, live animals and oversized shipments. Security requirements, customs procedures and the regulatory framework governing air cargo operations are also considered as essential elements in terminal design. The research compares different airport models through four European case studies: Zaragoza and Luxembourg, representing specialised cargo-oriented airports, and Barcelona-El Prat and Amsterdam-Schiphol, representing mixed passenger and cargo hubs. This comparative analysis makes it possible to identify how factors such as market specialisation, geographical location, connectivity and operational strategy influence infrastructure configuration and logistics processes. Finally, the project examines the sustainability challenges associated with air cargo operations, focusing on aspects such as aircraft load factors, dedicated freighters versus belly cargo, hub consolidation, sustainable aviation fuels, fleet renewal, digitalisation and the electrification of ground support equipment. Based on the analysis, the study proposes improvement strategies in the short, medium and long term. The results highlight the need for flexible, technologically advanced and sustainable terminal models capable of adapting to future changes in global logistics and air transport demand. |
