The goal of this project is to develop an android based
application where customer can generate token for their place in
virtual queue for selected public or private services for
example banks, supermarkets, etc for time saving and as
precaution of social distancing. Development of application will
have two interfaces: one for customers and second for service
providers.
 
Overview (resum en anglès):

Customer flow management for service providers has been essential part for revenue
generation and for delivering good quality of services. In the year of pandemic
maintaining social distancing in order to control Covid-19 virus spread has been
essential norm. This thesis focuses on the development of a solution which can help
service providers to manage crowd and reduce waiting perception bias as well as it will
help to maintain social distancing in this crucial time of era.
Among the various solutions for Customer flow management, virtual queuing has been
the top priority. Today almost every human has a phone in their hand, what can be a
better solution then creating a mobile application for them to stand in a virtual queue
for everyday essential services in order to reduce their waiting time and maintaining
social distancing. With virtual queuing a customer can stand in the queue without being
physically present there. Our application will serve as a tool to people as well as these
service providers where there will be no need stand in long queues or be the part of the
crowd. In fact, it will provide with a solution to eliminate the queues and public rush
permanently.
The purposed system runs on android operating system. It was designed with full stack
development technologies like Flutter, Laravel, Geolocation, APIs and Passport.js for
authentication and security.
The thesis introduces queue theory, customer flow management, business model
canvas, monetization model, system design, system development and validation.
