In recent years, the aerospace sector has undergone significant changes that have given rise to a new paradigm, known as 'NewSpace'. This term refers to a more commercial and private approach to space exploration and space technology design, which has been driven by the emergence of new companies and startups seeking to change the way space missions are conducted. The increase in private investment in the sector has led to greater competition and accelerated technological development, which has led to the emergence of new solutions and design methodologies oriented towards the aerospace sector.
In this master's final project, a general review of the physical effects occurring in outer space, their interaction with systems in it and design strategies to minimize or mitigate them. An overview of the changes facing the space sector will be also given. |

Overview (resum en anglès): | |
This work will try to give an overview of the origin of the most impacting effects that cause disturbances in space systems. Both, the nature of the effect on the system and the design methodologies commonly used to protect against them. Throughout the work, comments will be provided which allow for a fairly complete visualization of the changing scenario and context that the sector is currently experiencing. The approach will focus on technical topics and challenges. |
