The project focuses on 5G mobile communications systems. The objective is to create a testbed for non-coherent MIMO communications based on "Universal Software Radio Peripherals (USRP)". The student will need basic skills on signal processing, C++ language and Linux. The first phase of the project will consist in reviewing the state of the art in MIMO processing for 4G and the improvements foreseen within 5G. In the second phase the student will write some test programs using Matlab or Octave to gain knowledge on the main problems to solve to implement a MIMO system without using pilots. The final stage will be building the testbed on the B210 Ettus Research USRP in order to test results in real time and with real propagation impairments. | |
