Overview (resum en anglès):
The number of wireless applications that a handset device holds is tending to increase because the user request to use all these applications by using one single device. Thus, the RF designers are struggling to find techniques to embed all the filters needed to perfectly run the different applications.

The common microwave approach is becoming unfeasible to do it, because the size of a microwave resonator is directly related with the electromagnetic wavelength and, consequently, with the propagation velocity. Therefore, the integration of these components becomes in an impossible task due to their high dimensions.
The use of electro-acoustic resonators have been presented as the best solution in terms of size, because this technology presents a reduction of the phase velocity (5 orders of magnitude lower than the electromagnetic wave velocity), and, therefore, a reduction of the wavelength which determines the resulting size of the designed component. The most used technologies are bulk acoustic wave (BAW) and surface acoustic wave (SAW).

One of the most important problems in these technologies is the nonlinear effect that appears in these resonators due to the nonlinearities that are inherent to the involved materials. Before manufacturing a BAW resonator, the designers implement some scenarios in order to analyze and to take into account this nonlinear problem. They also use simulators in order to emulate and discern the origin of the nonlinear distortion.

This Master thesis is focused on BAW resonators and filters and it shows the development of a new software tool able to reproduce the linear and nonlinear behavior of this kind of devices.
