    Descripció del contingut i pla d'activitats:
    Solar sails must be sent folded into space. In this TFG the
    student will design the container of the folded solar sail
    (with a Cubesat 1U form factor), as well as identify possible
    mechanisms for autonomous unfolding and rigidizing of the solar
    sail.
    One of the main goals of this study is to identify materials
    light enough to produce a 10 square metres sail with a mass
    less than 30 grams. Suitable mechanisms for the limitation of
    ripping of the sail will also be studied.
    Finally, a thermal analysis of the solar sail will be
    performed.

    Structural and thermal design of a solar sail and its components. This project also includes a study of its folding, deployment and an analysis of the loads carried through the film.
