Descripció del contingut i pla d'activitats:
Internet of Things (IoT) is increasingly every day. IoT means that each device is connected to the network, Internet, to send and to receive data. It is estimated that by 2020 there could be around 5000 million objects.

Many of these devices are nodes with few resources: little memory, low computing power, low energy and they are autonomous. Wireless sensor networks (WSN) are composed of these types of devices. They are networks of sensors nodes that measure parameters of their environment, store these measures and transmit to a control centre. Such nodes must be autonomous, no maintenance by persons, so they must obtain their energy from their environment. There are many nodes that fulfil these features. Several of them are the Zolertia nodes

The objective is to develop a network with those nodes and evaluate their advantages and disadvantages. This network will have two novelties: 6LoWPAN, this protocol is used for the Internet of Things (IoT), and Contiki, operating system developed for low resources platforms.

Overview (resum en anglès):
This project is based on the design and implementation of the WSN (Wireless Sensor Network), in order to test and check its performance.
This net is created with Zolertia motes, which model is Re-Mote.
The WSN network connects to the internet through a border router. It allows to send the information to a central server trough internet and view the status of the sensors.
Once assembled, test of energy consumption are carried out and the maximum distance of separation between motes is calculated.
