| La idea del proyecto es realizar una categorización de los
aeropuerto en los que opera Vueling en función de diferentes criterios: APP, Meteo, longitud de pista Una vez hecha esta categorización, y en base a ella se realizará una categorización de los comandantes y segundos que tiene Vueling teniendo en cuenta sus horas de vuelo dentro y fuera de la compañía con tal de saber quién puede operar en cada aeropuerto. Una vez hechas las categorizaciones se optimizarán las bases en función de los pilotos disponibles, sus FTE (full time equivalent) y sus categorizaciones. De esta manera se conseguirá evitar que haya bases donde la carga de trabajo sea muy superior/inferior a la deseada. |

| The purpose of the following document is to analyze the complex of bases in Vueling Airlines, as well as the distribution of crews based on them in order to optimize these means. In consequence, the operative costs of delays caused based on lack of crews will decrease.
To achieve this main objective, the process will start in an analysis of the current operative means that the company has, which are the pilots and the destinations where Vueling flies. This analysis will be performed by a categorization of the airports where the company operates, taking into account its characteristics and therefore, the complexity of the operation. This will be followed by an analysis of the skills of the pilots to restrict their operation to airports according their skill level. Once the company resources and the way they are distributed in the bases are determined, we will be able to check any maladjustment regarding the needs of each base. According to this point, it will be found a resources focus in the airlines hub (Barcelonas airport) in such a way the rest of bases will have limited ones. In order to solve it, a solution keeping part of the resources in Barcelona and endowing other bases more resources will be proposed. To sum up, restructuring the distribution of the crews in the bases will allow Vueling to reduce its delays associated with the lack of pilots, the costs these delays produce will fall and the workload of pilots will also be reduced. |
