The aim of the project consists in designing and studying
communication protocols and technologies within the scope and vision of 5G to enable mission critical applications, these include those applications where time sensitive communications are needed and highly reliability are needed. For example, this is the case of wireless communication networks for the smart grid to enable control automation. Another key relevant use case is the autonomous and connected car, if safety related applications are involved, it is necessary to ensure low latency and high reliable communication. Application of Focus 1. Smart grid (without mobility) 2. Automotive application (with mobility) Key performance indicators: 1. Latency (Time to start communication, different from delay, which is the time to complete a transaction). 2. Throughput (bps) 3. Reliability (probability of delivering data in due time) 4. Energy efficiency (joules / useful bit) 5. Scalability (maximum number of supported devices) |
