Descripció del contingut i pla d'activitats:
The project objective is to develop a low cost Light Fidelity, LIFI communication system. As a secondary objective, we will analyze the transmission of an LTE like waveform through light channels and determine the most suitable parameters for hosting a reliable transmission. We propose to modulate the light of a low cost laser for transmission and use photoelectric devices on the reception side.

The proposed work will use an existing framework for generating LTE waveform which is currently working under Linux OS environment. No additional LTE development would be required. Only minor adjustments.

The project is organized around four phases:
1)Identify the relevant parameters for light channels. Define the working assumptions for LIFI links.
2)Development of transmitter and receiver components.
3)Development of a testbed for analyzing signal quality at different key points and to evaluate the link reliability.
4)Selection of appropriate parameter values for hosting a high data rate link.

Overview (resum en anglès):
This project aims to construct a low cost LIFI prototype communication system, which can transmit high frequency and wideband signals.
The system uses LED / photodiode as an optical transceiver device, combining software and hardware to implement real signal transmission.
The system environment is optimized to improve the intensity of output signal and realize the broadband audio signal transmission, so the parameter setting and optimization methods need to be studied. Some test of the scalability of the LIFI system and the performance of the data transmission has been done.
