Descripció del contingut i pla d'activitats:
The goal of the project is to design and integrate different
subsystems to create an high performance On Board Computer (OBC)
that has also a communication module based on a Sofware Defined
Radio solution (SDR). This will OBC will have enough functional
flexibility to be integrated in different Nanosat missions from
1 Unit to 16 Units to manage a whole mission and to communicate
with different payloads. The student will have to define all
requirements of the different subsystems, define input output
interfaces. A first version of the main PCB will have to be
designed.

Overview (resum en anglès):
This document describes and summarizes the design process carried out by Carles Sierra and its colleagues at Intitut d’Estudis Espacials de Catalunya (IEEC) for the C3SatP project in the context of his Final Master Thesis for the Universitat Politecnica de Catalunya (UPC).

The document is focused on both high level design (system design) as well as low level hardware design (mainly electronics, but mechanical and thermal as well) of the C3SatP nano-satellite computer: a modular, versatile and powerful digital system that will control, gather, process and transmit satellite data. The progress here explained will cover the work done mainly by the author, but also by some of its collaborators in the same project due to its multidisciplinary team, such as: System design, Power Supply design, Interconnection schemes, Printed Circuit Board (PCB) design, Project Outreach and System Structures. It excludes several designs in which the Author is not actively involved in, such as the Software Defined Radio (SDR) PCB, main On-Board Computer (OBC) components, embedded software design, etc.
