Descripció del contingut i pla d'activitats:
Software-defined Networking (SDN) is a technology that
decouples control and data plane, allowing a flexible and
vendor-agnostic management of the network resources.
Typically, a SDN controller is responsible for the
configuration of a set of network elements (switches).

The ONOS (Open Network Operating System), hosted by the Linux
Foundation, is an open source project defined to develop an
Open-Source Distributed SDN Operating System for building next
generation SDN/NFV networks and used as a platform to test and
develop new applications and services.

This thesis pursues the definition and implementation of a
resource assignment algorithm based on meters, i.e., a
mechanism that considers the current network state to perform
the resource assignment. The main idea is to create a closed
cycle of measurements, optimization and resource assignment to
improve the quality of service provided to the end users in a
SDN scenario that uses ONOS as the SDN controller.
