Descripció del contingut i pla d'activitats:
El benestar animal és un dels principals reptes del sector productiu porcí. En els darrers anys s' han implementat gran nombre de millores, de vegades com a resultat de requeriments legals i altres per iniciatives particulars. Atès que el benestar animal en animals de granja és una ciència relativament recent, moltes d' aquestes accions sofreixen de manca d' experiències en granges Comercials i no en centres de Recerca. La gran diversitat de situacions en granges Comercials pot generar resultats insatisfactoris en aplicar millores en l'ambient controlat dels Centres de Recerca. Concretament el benestar animal en porcs d'engreix presenta grans oportunitats de millora atesos els problemes encara no solucionats com el raboteig, les agressions i les baixes. Actualment les principals actuacions es basen en l' enriquiment ambiental i la disminució de les densitats.

El TFG proposat tracta de mostrar els beneficis de determinades tècniques d' enriquiment ambiental en l' engreix porcí. Les activitats a realitzar:

Cicle d' engreix complet des de transició a escorxador. Supervisió i cura i maneig dels animals

Disseny experimental amb tres grups de corrals; Control, tractament 1 i tractament 2

Recopilació de dades de comportament, sanitaris, baixes, prevalença de processos,

Recopilació de dades en escorxador. Pesos, qualitat de canal, DOA

Tractament de dades, revisió bibliogràfica, discussió...

Overview (resum en anglès): Stocking density is one of the main factors influencing pig production, as it directly affects the welfare, health, and productive performance of pigs. This study analyzes the impact of stocking density on fattening pigs and spatial conditions. To achieve this, two housing configurations with different densities are compared: a conventional setup (0.65 m² per pig) and an experimental setup (1 m² per pig), evaluating parameters such as feed conversion ratio (FCR), weight gain, mortality, environmental conditions, and the animals' response according to the Welfare protocol.
Through a methodology based on direct observation, quantitative data collection, and statistical analysis, significant variations have been recorded in feed conversion and weight gain, demonstrating greater efficiency in the experimental configuration. Additionally, the results have shown a reduction in the incidence of injuries and aggressive behaviors in pigs housed at lower densities, reinforcing the correlation between available space and animal welfare.
The ultimate goal is to contribute to the optimization of pig production systems by proposing more efficient and sustainable practices that balance economic profitability with compliance with animal welfare regulations. Furthermore, the results obtained can be highly valuable for generating knowledge and implementing strategies that enhance improvements in the sector.
