Descripció del contingut i pla d'activitats:

Overview (resum en anglès): This Bachelor's Thesis is part of the European project SYMBIOSYST and analyses the effect of different agrivoltaic systems on the growth, physiology, and nutritional composition of Romaine lettuce (Lactuca sativa var. longifolia) grown in open field at the Agròpolis facility, Viladecans. The main objective is to determine how three distinct environments affect lettuce development: standard solar panels (5% transparency, sector 1), translucent panels (40% transparency, sector 2), and a control plot without panels (sector 3), during the winter growing cycle (cycle 3, February-April).
For each sector, morphological variables (height, diameter, volume, and eccentricity) were measured weekly, as well as fresh weight, water content, chlorophyll content (SPAD), and mineral composition (K¿, NO¿¿, and Ca²¿) at the end of the cycle, also comparing the effect of the north-south orientation of the growing beds. Data were analysed using Type III ANOVA and Tukey's post-hoc test (¿=0.05) with R software.
The results show that lettuces grown under standard or opaque panels (sector 1) presented significantly greater height, diameter, and volume than the control group, a pattern consistent with the adaptation mechanism of lettuce to light stress caused by shading from photovoltaic modules. In contrast, the control sector accumulated more dry matter (less water), as it did not need to invest resources in elongation. Total fresh weight showed no significant differences between sectors, whereas potassium and nitrate content did vary significantly according to treatment. North-south orientation only had a relevant effect in sectors with panels.
It is concluded that agrivoltaic systems, especially with opaque panels, induce significant morphological and physiological adaptations in Romaine lettuce during winter, without compromising its final fresh weight, which reinforces the viability of this crop in agrivoltaic systems.
