Nanosatellites are compact and small satellites with similar
capabilities as the standard ones. These reduced versions allow for inexpensive access to space and satellite experimentation, especially for universities and research purposes. Nanosat Laboratories is developing a 6unit cube satellite, because of its compact configuration, a deployable antenna will be used. This project aims to develop the deployment mechanism in a nanosat configuration functioning in space conditions. The main objective of this thesis is to adapt and design a deployable antenna in the reduced space in disposition, ensure a working deployment mechanism and test it in space conditions and high vibrations simulating from the take off until the nanosat deployment. |

Overview (resum en anglès): | |
This final degree thesis aims at developing a Fresnel zone plate antenna with its deployment subsystem of a GNSS-RO payload. It will be integrated in the 3Cat8 nanosatellite,
one of UPC NanoSat Lab¿s mission. This thesis embarks in several designs of the antenna as its deployments system inside the limitations the environment of outer space and other impediments of the mission At the end of this work, several promising designs pave a road for the continuation of the development of the antenna and its deployment system. After testing and analyzing the materials and design, the optimal characteristics and best designs are a starting point for the continuation of its development. |
