Contribución al desarrollo del Drone Engineering Ecosystem
Overview (resum en anglès):
The purpose of this final degree project is to contribute to the Drone Engineering Ecosystem. To achieve this, improvements will be made to the Flutter application and the stability and navigability of drones in indoor spaces will be studied through the integration of new instruments.
The first objective is to enhance the Flutter application (FlutterApp) by integrating live video streaming capabilities. This will be achieved using technologies like WebSockets or MQTT to communicate with the drone's camera service and continuously send data to the mobile application. Additionally, real-time tracking of the drone directly from the mobile app will be enabled, enhancing the user experience. This will involve receiving telemetry data from the drone's autopilot in the FlutterApp. The second objective of this work is to advance control, stability, and navigability of drones in indoor environments through the development and implementation of specialized tools. The behaviour of a laser altimeter (Rangefinder), which replaces the drone's barometer and provides altitude information, and an Optical Flow camera, which substitutes for GPS and provides horizontal stability, will be investigated. It is concluded that both devices offer sufficient quality of service to be used safely in indoor spaces. This second objective culminates with the development of a computer application that will allow drone control in indoor spaces using radio telemetry. The improvements in the Flutter application represent a significant advancement and provide a solid foundation for other students to contribute to the DEE, particularly relevant given the increasing familiarity with mobile applications. On the other hand, progress made in indoor flights is notably successful, as the developed application can be used in educational environments such as high schools. The use of drones presents a great opportunity to incentivise young people's interest in technology. |
