Overview (resum en anglès):
This work presents the study of the implementation of drones in a sparsely populated rural area, centred on the population of Tírig. The aim is to see in future what drone operations we will find in these areas, as well as the different characteristics of these drones¿ operations. It is also intended to see the legal viability of operations in the current context of legislation and the most limited factors in operating a drone.

The study begins by analysing the different applications that drones can currently perform, as well as those that are developing. It is accompanied by a forecast by the European Union of the size of the drone fleet that will operate in Europe and Spain in the future.

The following is an extensive description of European and Spanish legislation on operations in UAS, with particular emphasis on the whole part referring to the limitations and conditions for operating a drone depending on the operational category in which the operation is located: open, specific, and certified category. The procedure used to assess the operational risks of an operation has also been described in detail, as it will be a very widely used procedure in future for all operations that wish to operate in the specific category, where most operations will be found.

To conclude, using the results of the initial analysis and current legislation, we have described the scenario that we would find in a rural area, in this case the municipality of Tírig, Castelló. The operations we could find in this environment have been described and a volume of drones has been found, which has been compared to the Spanish forecast. Finally, a real operation of drones has been planned between the populations of Benassal and Tírig, checking that it was technically and legally feasible.
