Overview (resum en anglès): | |
The main objective of this study was to analyze and evaluate the effects of the proposed changes by the Ámbar project on the air system of Madrid-Barajas Airport. The aim was to determine if these changes could improve safety, capacity, and the efficiency of the airport.
To achieve these objectives, a methodology based on detailed analysis of the proposed changes by the Ámbar project was used. The new modes of independent parallel approaches and the area navigation (RNAV) systems implemented in arrival procedures were examined. The findings revealed that the introduction of the proposed changes through the Ámbar project at Madrid-Barajas Airport has the potential to bring about substantial enhancements to the air system. Noteworthy improvements include a decrease in the workload of approach controllers, greater adaptability to unexpected scenarios, and enhanced flexibility in route planning. Furthermore, enhancements in the efficiency of the air system were identified, including improved traffic management capacity and reduced delays. It was also highlighted that RNAV systems enable more precise and direct navigation, resulting in time and fuel savings for airlines. In conclusion, this study supports the notion that the proposed changes by the Ámbar project at Madrid-Barajas Airport have the potential to significantly enhance the air system in terms of safety, capacity, efficiency, and fuel consumption. These findings provide a solid foundation for future implementations and strategic decisions at the airport. |
