| The main objective of this thesis is to analyze the evolution of low-cost carriers in Europe,
examining its growth trajectory, their future potential, and its relation to their overlap and competition with full service carriers. This thesis will explore the evolution of low cost carriers by analyzing how different airlines operate, comparing the growth pattern, business model and cost between ULCC, LCC and FSC. It will also forecast demand for the future years and examine the strategic responses of FSCs to the entry and expansion of LCCs. Moreover, the thesis will conduct a detailed analysis of a selected route or market where LCCs and FSCs directly compete, focusing on the pricing strategies and operatives tactics employed by both carriers, and assessing the impact of these strategies on market dynamics. |
