    GR ENG SIST AEROESP
Tipus: Individual

Lloc de realització: EETAC

KPI, IFP, VTOL, IFR, ConOps

Descripció del contingut i pla d'activitats:
The student will work with flight data from VTOL (Vertical Take-Off and Landing) aircraft to study how current procedure design criteria could be adapted to the specific performance of this type of aircraft. These criteria will be valid for any VTOL, but they may be adjusted depending on the specific category of each aircraft, as there is a great deal of variability in performance depending on the aircraft model.

One of the main objectives will be to define the concept of operations (ConOps) for VTOL aircraft. This will include the study of different operational aspects such as take-off procedures, approaches, and landings, operational requirements in terms of safety and efficiency, as well as the determination of optimal speeds and other operational parameters. Additionally, it will detail how these aircraft operate in complex environments and the specific procedures they follow according to the phase of flight.

A structured explanation of each phase of flight'take-off, climb, cruise, descent, and approach'will also be provided, highlighting the role of pilots and automatic systems at each moment.

Based on the ConOps, the student will work on defining and delimiting specific protection areas for VTOL operations, possibly based on the criteria currently established for conventional aircraft but adapting them to the unique needs of VTOL.

Finally, the creation of a preliminary or 'early model' will be proposed, based on the data available at the time. Although this initial data will not be robust enough to draw definitive conclusions, it will allow for an initial approach to the operational model for VTOL. This model will serve as a basis for future research and adjustments, as the database is expected to grow as the project progresses.

Orientació a l'estudiant:
The student must have basic knowledge about VTOL (Vertical Take-Off and Landing) aircraft and IFP (Instrument Flight Procedures), as these concepts will be the project's core.
They should also be able to conduct research to find key information in books, academic studies, and other sources.
Availability will be in the afternoons (3:00 p.m. ' 8:00 p.m.) Monday to Friday.
