Descripció del contingut i pla d'activitats:
This TFM proposes a methodology for the identification of moving hotspots (i.e. groups of users, demanding relatively high bit rate requirements, moving together in the same direction inside a cell) in 5G (or Beyond 5G) cellular networks. The identification of these situations is crucial to guarantee enough available resources to satisfy the user quality requirements. As an example, the identification of a group of users moving together towards a neighbour cell may be useful to trigger a resource reservation process in the neighbour cell to facilitate the handover process.

The proposed methodology is based on the use of an Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning methodology. In particular, it makes use of an unsupervised learning approach based on a clustering algorithm. This clustering algorithm is fed by a set of available realistic measurements of the user locations and trajectories inside the different cells of a cellular network deployed in the city of Cologne (Germany).

For this purpose, a network simulator (already developed in Python by the supervisor of this TFM) is available. The main functionalities of the simulator are available. The objective of this TFM is to develope the clustering algorithm in the provided simulator, according to the proposed methodology, and evaluate the obtained results by means of simulations in the considered scenario.
