| This project deals with the investigation of aerodynamic and performance parameters over an airfoil. This mainly includes the Active flow control techniques such as multi-sweeping jets which are used in airfoils/wings that will help us to analyze the lift and drag parameters. The jet configurations are studied and modified to obtain reduction of viscous drag, improvement in pressure distribution and interference effects over and below the airfoil and maximize lift coefficient.
Pre and Post processing stage would include the generation of a complete wing design with built-in sweeping jets using software as Gmesh or Solidworks. It requires parametric inputs like altering the position of jets in order to calculate the induced drag and thus decrease the drag effects. The use of this open source also results in advanced visualization capabilities of airfoil and parallel further analysis and simulation would be carried out using software as AnsysFluent or OpenFoam. |

| Orientació a l'estudiant: | |
| The student will learn the main features in airfoil analysis and design, aerodynamics and optimization. She/He has to become familiarize with the main characteristic parameters, e.g.
lift and drag coefficient, efficiency, etc. Programming languages as Matlab, SolidWorks software, and Python will be learned and/or deepen. Simulations will be performed via AnsysFluent in order to find the optimal design. Supervisor and student will meet regular basis about once a week to evaluate the progress and discuss the following steps. In case of bigger problems the student can approach the supervisor any time in order to solve the problems as soon as possible in order to avoid any hold backs. |

| Horari d'atenció a estudiants per a l'assignació de projecte: Regular meetings of about 1-2h will be setup weekly in order to check, discuss and evaluate the progress as well to plan the following steps. In case of bigger problems extraordinary meetings will be done as soon as possible. |
