| Descripció del contingut i pla d'activitats: | |
| This work is part of a multidisciplinary project where the student will be part of the work team, and will have the opportunity imrove the development of the eVtol in different areas: material analysis , lift engineering, flight mechanics, and aerodynamics. The main objective is to privide a structural material analysis and following adaption of an eVTOL with twin-boom tail design.
Working together with different departments of the Project: Aerodynamics, Propulsion, Structure & materials. The work plan will be as follows: 1) Primary research of the eVtol industry and analysis of how they work with structures. 2) Study and and implementation of different optional materials for the tail structure of the aircraft. 3) Work in SolidWorks, Altair or Catia for design and engineering. 4) Analyse the forces and pressures the new tail is subjected to using CFD simulations 5) Study of the fatigue and damage tolerance to the structure of the aircraft. 6) Study of the efficiency of different setups and configurations. 7) Study of manufacturing costs of the components and 8) Evaluation of the most suitable materials, based on requieremnts and costs. |

| Orientació a l'estudiant: | |
| The student will learn the main features regarding aerodynamics and design process with particular focus on structural analysis of materials. She/He has to become familiarize with the main characteristic parameters, the design, aerodynamics and optimization, materials, efficiency, etc. Programming languages as Matlab, Ansys Fluent, SolidWorks software, and Python will be learned and/or deepen. Simulations will be performed via AnsysFluent and SolidWorks to perform material analysis and in order to find the optimal design. Supervisor and student will meet regular basis about once a week to evaluate the progress and discuss the following steps. In case of bigger problems the student can approach the supervisor any time in order to solve the problems as soon as possible in order to avoid any hold backs. | |
| Requereix activitats hardware: No | |
| Horari d'atenció a estudiants per a l'assignació de projecte: Regular meetings of about 1-2h will be setup weekly in order to check, discuss and evaluate the progress as well to plan the following steps. In case of bigger problems extraordinary meetings will be done as soon as possible. |
