Descripció del contingut i pla d'activitats:
This Bachelor's thesis will focus to analyze the aircraft take-off process from a time management and operational optimization perspective in a real airport such as Barcelona-El prat Airport. The study focusses on identifying and analyzing the different
phases of the aircraft departure process, from initial preparation to take-off clearance and execution.
The methodology is based on direct observation, through systematic collection of time-related data. Based on these data, a process flow analysis is carried out to identify the
critical path, potential bottlenecks, and activities with the greatest impact on delaying the take-off.
Based on the results of the observation, a final proposal will be developed trying to optimize the temporal sequencing and coordination of operations, always considering safety requirements and current regulations.
Additionally, models based on artificial intelligence will be used. A basic model will be trained to compare its outputs with the analytical approach.
 
Orientació a l'estudiant:
The student will learn the main features regarding aircraft turn-around procedure, including landing, take-off, loading, unloading and servicing procedures. She/He has to analyze the different procedure with respect to cost, personal requirement and in particular time consumption. She/He has to become familiarize with the main characteristic how to optimize the time slots, servicing and personal involved, etc. to develop a basic model.
Artificial intelligence will be than considered to train the basic model and compare its outputs with an analytical approach.
Supervisor and student will meet regular basis about once a week to evaluate the progress and discuss the following steps. In case of bigger problems the student can approach the supervisor any time in order to solve the problems as soon as possible in order to avoid any hold backs.
 
 
 
Horari d'atenció a estudiants per a l'assignació de projecte:
Regular meetings of about 1-2h will be setup weekly in order to check, discuss and evaluate the progress as well to plan the following steps. In case of bigger problems extraordinary meetings will be done as soon as possible.
