Overview (resum en anglès): The project is drafted at the request of the developer who wishes to convert a 4.45 ha plot of land located in the municipality of Mansilla de las Mulas, León, into an irrigation area. Previously, the plot was dedicated to dryland crops, but it has been decided to convert it to irrigation, taking advantage of the fact that the plot is located within the irrigation zone managed by the Community of Irrigators of the Left Bank of the Porma River (León). The irrigation network guarantees a minimum flow rate of 40 L/s with a pressure at the plot's hydrant between 6 and 10 atm and an allocation of 6,000 m3/year.
The project includes the technical justification and the necessary executive documents to carry out the transformation works by installing a full-coverage irrigation system with fixed sprinklers and buried pipes. The proposal includes the automation of the system by installing solenoid valves at each of the 6 hydrants that serve the 6 sectors into which the estate has been divided.
The productive alternative for the irrigation area consists of extensive crops, with rotations alternating winter cereals with irrigation support during springs with low precipitation, followed by medium to long-cycle corn with abundant irrigation support.

Keywords: León, buried coverage, agronomic design, hydraulic design.
