Descripció del contingut i pla d'activitats:
El contenido de este TFG está basado en el estudio de cómo el relieve del territorio, especialmente las crestas de las montañas junto a sus rieras y la franja costera, han estructurado la comunicación y ubicación de los asentamientos poblacionales en la comarca del Maresme en el transcurso de su historia. Poniendo el foco en el espacio agrícola de Mataró, Les Cinc Sénies.
Overview (resum en anglès):
The present TFG is based on the study of the influences between the geomorphology of the territory and the construction of the agricultural landscape. The case study is the agricultural space of the Cinc Sénies, in Mataró. The study is approached from the territorial scale to the scale of landscape architecture. In the case of Maresme, the mountain divides, together with its streams and the coastal strip, have conditioned both the construction of the landscape and the communication and location of population settlements throughout the history of the region.
The streams are structural elements and identity of the region, their beds have served as communication routes that later became roads parallel to their courses, sometimes also transformed into main streets of villages, roads linking these villages and highway connecting two counties. In turn, these intermittent watercourses meet with a natural visual boundary such as mountain ridges, which are usually landmarks that configure territorial limits.
These two elements mentioned above, together with a third one, the sea, generate an urban fabric parallel to the coastline that has been growing over cultivated areas, preferably in flat coastal areas. I add the fact that the coastal slopes of the coastal mountain range and the Montnegre-Corredor have a southeast orientation, this together with the influence of the Mediterranean Sea, provide a humid and warm microclimate that differentiates it from inland regions of Catalonia and is beneficial for crop productivity.
These characteristics of the landscape on a regional scale are reproduced in a fractal way to configure the current structure of the study area.
