Descripció del contingut i pla d'activitats:
El trabajo analiza la evolución de las exportaciones alimentarias de Cataluña en las últimas dos décadas tanto hacia la UE como al restod del mundo. Asimismo se realiza una revisión de los principales indicadores de competitividad y se calculan para el período de estudio.

Overview (resum en anglès):
This work studies the evolution of the external competitiveness of Catalan agri-food exports during the period from 1998 to 2018, and compares it with the evolution of the Spanish competitiveness studied in this work during the same period. Firstly, the evolution of both Catalan and Spanish exports and imports is analyzed, as well as their coverage rate and geographic distribution. Secondly, three indicators have been used to define Catalan competitiveness, compare it with Spanish and determine if Catalan and Spanish foreign trade is closer to intra-sector or intersectoral trade. Finally, after having analyzed the three indicators, it can be seen how Catalan agri-food foreign trade shows an evolution of improvement in its comparative advantage, reaching a weak comparative advantage at the end of the 1998-2018 period. Comparing it with the Spanish in the specific markets, it can be seen that Catalonia has a greater advantage than Spain in the three specific markets. And it is also concluded that Catalonia is closer to inter-sectoral trade than intra-sectoral trade, while Spain has maintained its negative trend towards intra-sectoral trade.
