En aquest treball s'estudiaran les possibilitats que té la industria a data d'avui per modificar els formats d'envasament per plàstics biodegradables. Es farà una enquesta dels productes alimentaris de gran consum envasats en aquest tipus de materia i es realitzarà un anàlisis de possibilitats de millora

Overview (resum en anglès): The introduction of bioplastics as a raw material to produce food containers is a more sustainable trend focused on a circular economy. The objective of the study is to evaluate the implementation of bioplastics in the food industry and evaluate the future prospects of these materials in food packaging.

To this end, we have carried out an analysis of the current situation of the bioplastics in the market and a study of the tendencies of possible use. With all this we have seen and evaluated the different problems that are in the firm execution of this type of materials.

On the one hand, we have the lack of access to the biomass and the lack of competitiveness of the production price of the bioplastic with respect to the oil.

Secondly, we have seen that it is necessary to investigate more to provide better alternatives and to gradually incorporate them instead of much less sustainable conventional plastic containers.

Finally, we will see that the lack of powerful environmental legislations and management systems hindes the development of organic products; therefore, it is necessary to do more work in this regard.
