Descripció del contingut i pla d'activitats:
In the context of future 6G Networks, the support for network determinism is one of the key aspects. In this regard, temporal Key Performance Indicators, such as end-to-end (E2E) latency and jitter at flow level, are concentrating research efforts to be able to support to a broad range of use cases.
In this framework, a Path Computation engine has to be able of determining network paths according to constraints expressed in the form of (temporal) metrics. The value of the metric can be defined as a bound or maximum, meaning that path metric must be less than or equal such value. While this can be sufficient for certain services, some others can require a more precise Availability Metric.
At the time of calculating a path, the defined metric has to be optimized by the path computation algorithm. The value of the metric can refer to the instantaneous observed behavior of that parameter, without a notion of behavior along the preceding time. This cannot be sufficient for certain networking services which require to experience stable behavior along the time.

It worth to mention that the Thesis will be done in collaboration with Telefonica and actually, one person from Telefonica will be serving as Co-Advisor.

Orientació a l'estudiant:
The main goal of the proposed Master Thesis is the design and evaluation of a path computation engine to compute end-to-end paths according to the defined metric. Therefore, it includes both the contribution to the design of the path computation algorithm and the implementation of a software tool (simulator) to evaluate its performance.
