objectius docents.

d'aprenentatge.

Overview (resum en anglès):
The research line of this project is to recognise the virtues of video game technologies in order to apply them to the learning of key concepts of subjects in university engineering degrees. Specifically, this line of research has focused on the creation of a video game that allows students of the subject of Structures and Strength of Materials to achieve the concept of 'centroid' through a graded and intuitive learning process.

This project is the result of the knowledge I have acquired about the use and application of video game technology as a powerful learning tool, the application of gamification, so that this learning can be both attractive and efficient, the methodology I have used, based on the methodology of research in Design Sciences, the results obtained and the conclusions I have reached. In fact, if the video game has had different versions, from the initial to the final one, it is because one of the main objectives of the creation of this training activity has been to provide the students with a gradual and intuitive learning process.

The video game resulting from this work has been created under the video game development engine 'Unity'. The final version is a 2D videogame for mobile phones, specifically for Android. It presents different levels of difficulty depending on the complexity of the figures, the more complex the figures, the more difficult it is to find their centroid. It is complemented by different gamification elements that allow the students' learning progress to be staggered and enhanced.

This project shows that we can achieve the learning of complex concepts in the opposite direction to what has been traditional up to now, that is to say, from intuition and gamification.
